London, England - A survey has revealed that Japanese automakers have dominated the Top 100 most-reliable used cars over the past decade.
Insurer Warranty Direct compiled a list that found every car in the Top 10 - and an amazing 16 out of the Top 20 - were Japanese.
No.1 was Honda's Accord, now a strong seller in Europe thanks to the company's acclaimed 2.2-litre diesel engine.
Models were ranked according to the number of breakdowns and based on a database of more than 55 000 vehicles.
More than 7.5-million Britons spent a total of £25-billion buying used cars in 2005 - nearly seven times the number of people who bought a new car privately.
Following the Accord in the top five were Subaru's Forester, Mazda's MX-5, Mitsubishi's Carisma and Toyota's Yaris. - Reuters
